Everyone is shocked by the war between the Ukraine and Russia. I am not going to get into the politics….I know this is all orchestrated from Above for a specific purpose (which I cannot attempt to understand) but we all pray this should bring the redemption with Moshiach. Nevertheless, although everything is by Divine Providence, we still have to beg the Almighty to put an end to war and bring peace to the world. The destruction in the Ukraine is very, very sad. Ukraine is a place filled with the burial places of holy tzadikim such as the Alter Rebbe, the Baal Shem Tov, the Mittler Rebbe, Rabbi Nachman of Breslov and many more. It is the place where the Lubavitcher Rebbe was born and grew up and where his father was the Rav. Surely the merits of these tzadikim will bring salvation. Besides, we are now in the month of Adar, the month of good mazal for the Jewish nation. The president of Ukraine is Jewish and so we pray that his mazal will prevail. Everything will change around just as it was in the days of Purim when Haman harasha tried to destroy the Jewish people and everything changed and the Jews were victorious through the leadership of Mordechai hayehudi and through the self sacrifice of Esther hamalka. There were other times in Jewish history, such as the Chanukah miracle, when the few were victorious against the many. So may it be now we should see such miracles. Certainly we pray that all the innocent people should be saved and that there should truly be peace in the entire world. I know there are people claiming there will be a world war three. I beg to differ. I believe that everything will change to the good and this will be over by Purim time: a complete “nehepach hu”.
