COLLECTIVE TRAUMA

The biggest collective trauma our generation  experienced was gimmel tamuz….the day we no longer could see or hear the Lubavitcher Rebbe….the day that our generation experienced the greatest concealment.

The biggest collective anxiety our generation experiences every day is a subconscious anxiety about why we are still in exile, why Moshiach is not here yet.    Of course, every generation has experienced that….but ours feels it more as we anticipate the redemption , are so close to the coming of Moshiach and yet, we sometimes lose hope and feel despair….. especially post gimmel tamuz.

But we also know that gimmel tamuz is actually the beginning of redemption: the redemption of the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe from imprisonment on Yud Beis Tamuz really began on gimmel tamuz.

And certainly the concealment of our Rebbe on Gimmel Tamuz is the beginning of our true redemption, may it be speedily in our days. Since he was a small boy, the Rebbe had a vision of redemption. He had a belief in the goodness inside every person and the potential inside all of us to bring salvation to the world. He constantly was pushing humanity to progress, improve and illuminate our surroundings. He saw the rectification of every person as part of the bigger picture to rectify the entire world. This is all part of the Messianic redemption
