REFLECTIONS FOR GIMMEL TAMUZ

Today is the day of Gimmel Tamuz (the third day of the Hebrew month of Tamuz), the day that the Lubavitcher Rebbe was concealed from us.  But that concealment was only from our perspective. He continues to lead us, help us, bless us and guide us. Why did we have to go through this concealment? We cannot know for sure but we do know the Rebbe’s mission is to bring Moshiach: to bring the actual geula.  He gave over that mission to us to complete.  Therefore, we just have to ignore all the darkness of exile and go forward like soldiers to do what our Commander has commanded….we simply have to go above and beyond all obstacles and challenges and keep our faith very strongly and we will very soon merit to see the Rebbe again along with the complete and final redemption.  The Rebbe often quoted the motto of the Rebbe Maharash (the fourth Lubavitcher Rebbe) of “lchatchila arriber”, just to go above and beyond any obstacles as if they do not exist and they will melt away.  We need to do that now as well: to ignore the darkness and simply bring more light and truth to the world.

We will very soon merit Moshiach and the third Beit Hamikdash. In the meantime, it behooves each and every one of us to add in Torah and mitzvot, to separate ourselves from the secular mentality of the world and to permeate the world with more holiness.  Once we each make our corner of the world ready for Moshiach, the geula will happen.
