ON THE WAY TO REDEMPTION

Yesterday I drove by a sign that said “recycling and redemption” and I thought to myself: we are all “recycled souls” (from a previous incarnation) and we are on the way to redemption.  And truthfully that is what life is all about: correcting our past lives (tikunim) and preparing for redemption.

Now that the elections are over, I must say I am not a fan of the new administration. I do not feel they have good intentions or wisdom to make proper decisions for the welfare of society and the world at large. However, I do know that the Almighty is in charge: it was His will that this administration should get into office. That being said, there is definitely a bigger picture here that will unfold with time.

Certainly, there is a Judge and a Judgement: no wrong doing or fraud goes unpunished. Eventually the truth is revealed.  Nobody should ever think they can get away with fraud or cheating their way into any position of power because that shows they believe they can hide from the Almighty.  They need to keep in mind what the sages taught us in our holy Torah: “There is an Eye that sees, an Ear that hears, and everything is recorded in the Heavenly books.”

Nevertheless, now that we are entering a new era, with a new administration, I know that the hearts of leaders are in the hands of the Almighty and surely He will guide everything with Divine Providence towards the direction He wants, for His purposes, and surely it will all be, as it is written in the book of Yeshayahu, when at the end of time the Almighty will say to the Jewish nation “ Everything I have done, I did for your sake. The time for your redemption has arrived.”

This is the whole idea: never to depend upon a human being for salvation. We need to depend only upon our Father in Heaven and pray for the redemption of the world from this long and difficult exile with the coming of Moshiach, may it be speedily in our days.
