The real enemy of today’s society is social media (media in general). We parents are in competition with social media to raise our children! It used to be that parents had control over their children, at least to a certain age. Parents were able to shape the morality, world views and ideas of their children in accordance with G-ds will. Now our children are influenced even subconsciously by a bombardment of messages from Instagram, facebook, tik tok and youtube etc. The problem is that children (and even many adults) do not have the proper tools or education to understand what is true and what is false, what is right and what is wrong, what is pure and what is impure etc. People accept wrong messages even subconsciously and this affects the way people view others, view the world, react to situations and so on. It is a very confusing , dark world nowadays and we need to constantly bring light into our homes, our minds, our children’s minds and into our hearts. We need to feed our souls and be able to reject falseness.
It is very important to try not to give social media or phones or computers to young children for as long as possible. If your children will use a computer for learning Torah and for good purposes, you need to put special controls on the computer so your children cannot access or see anything that is not proper.
Parents, we need to take back control of our children, of our families, of our homes….we need to educate our children in the right way. We need to spend time teaching our children and explaining to them. We need to have open communication with our children so they do not get confused by things they hear from friends or see on social media.
Social media is also at fault for promoting wrong ideas concerning Israel. This needs to be corrected. We need to tell the truth to the world and not be afraid. No, Israel is not committing genocide in Gaza. The truth is that those so called “innocent” civilians took part in the October 7th massacre, took part in hiding hostages and they support and re elect Hamas. And even if there are those who are supposedly “innocent”, the victory in war cannot take into account every person who is in the war zone. When America was bombing Germany in world war 2 they did not warn people or take into account who might get killed. Unfortunately, that is the sad realty of war. But israel did not start the war and Israel must get rid of terrorism and win this war. When September 11 happened in America, nobody told America how to fight their battles. Only Israel is constantly being attacked for defending our rights….it is pure anti semitism fueled by the media and by the radical muslims and radical leftist aspects of society. We have to be wiser. Do not believe everything you hear or read. Do not allow evil to control the media! Do not allow the media to control or corrupt your children or even your own mind! This is how the government wants to control people but it is time to stand up and say “Enough!”
