Just like in the story of Purim, the Jews lived an entire year with the threat of annihilation through the evil plan of Haman hanging over their heads. But they committed to keeping the Torah properly no matter what their fate would be. It says that when God gave us the Torah, we accepted it. We said “naaseh vnishmah” , we will do and we will hear (obey). But it was not a full commitment. At the time of the Purim decree, we fully accepted the Torah and that is actually what brought about our salvation. Mordechai Hayehudi sat and learned Torah with the children. All the Jewish nation kept the Torah fully despite the danger in doing so. This was with tremendous self sacrifice.
And now we have a new modern day Purim story! We all must commit ourselves to a greater observance of Torah and mitzvot and this is also what will bring ultimate salvation and a complete redemption with the coming of Moshiach.
