Obviously we are all delighted to get the hostages back home. The question is: at what cost? This hostage deal is terrible. It has no logic to it. Why are we negotiating with terrorists? This only encourages them to commit more terror and to think kidnapping “works”.
The truth is, this deal is all based on emotion, not intellect. We always need to look ahead and see the consequences of decisions. If this deal could result in the murder of more Jews in the future, is it morally correct? We have seen time and again how released terrorists went back to their criminal acts with no regrets, no mercy. One of the terrorists released in exchange for Gilad Shalit was sinwar! We must remember we are not dealing with kind , humane muslims. We are dealing with evil terrorists who only want to murder.
Could we get the hostages back in a better way? I truthfully believe we could. We do not have to agree to such terrible terms. If America would pressure Qatar, turkey, Egypt and others the hostages could have been released without releasing terrorists. I believe Hashem would help for that if we fully put our trust in Him and not in human beings or politicians.
The other important point is that Israel should not hold terrorists in Israeli prisons. The life in prison is an easy life for those terrorists, many having a better situation that in the villages they come from. So what is the better solution? Any terrorist who murdered a Jew should receive the death penalty. Then, when there are no terrorists in Israeli prisons, there is no one to negotiate for and it would deter kidnappings and possibly even attacks.
We need to stand up strongly and be proactive. We need to eliminate any sign of weakness.
This deal is humiliating and makes Israel look weak.This is not morality. Anything we do must be based on torah principles. Yes, we try to do whatever we can to release hostages…within reason and in such a way so as not to endanger other Jews.
The only proper way to have a ceasefire and get back the hostages is for Israel to insist on a complete surrender by Hamas and the return of all the hostages with no conditions. Otherwise it is a terrible deal, a dangerous deal and completely irresponsible on the part of everyone involved with such a decision. How could anyone draft up such a ridiculous idea? how could israel agree? how could trump push it? there is no logic and it is a very sad day . Of course we are happy for the hostages and their families…but the joy is overshadowed by the sadness due to the danger that is involved in releasing terrorists. It sends a wrong message to the evil side. Now we have to pray that the Almighty should have mercy upon the Jewish people and save everyone and not allow any further terror attacks or wars…but to be honest, people need to wake up and understand our salvation comes ONLY from God Almighty…not from any human being. And mainly we need to pray for Moshiach: that is the ONLY solution in the long run.
